Wee Inventors is a Scottish initiative of a bigger organisation called Little Inventors. Little Inventors is a creative education organisation, whose mission is to spark kids’ interest in inventing for the world. They give children opportunities to develop problem-solving skills that they will benefit from in their daily lives as adults. Little Inventors encourage imagination and creativity by taking children’s ideas seriously. They collect invention ideas and with the help of trusted makers, artists and designers, turn them into real objects. Our Wee Inventors team had a pleasure of working for a few weeks with kids and teachers at Oxgangs Primary School in Edinburgh. We delivered a series of Art and Design workshops and collected nearly 100 drawings of invention ideas. We carefully selected the best ones and with help of the first year’s Product Design students, we turned them into real objects. All models were later on displayed on virtual exhibition, where kids, parents and teachers could see the final outcomes of the Napier-Oxgangs Wee Inventors project.
The Wee Team

Lara My younger siblings inspired me to be more creative, Wee inventors was my chance to pass on creativity to others. | Kat The kid’s creative energy on the wee inventors workshops motivated me to be my more creative myself. |
